Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Lucky fishes"
Description
“Lucky fishes” — three patterned koi carp turn slowly through clear water among lily pads.
What the picture shows
The composition runs on a diagonal: two large orange-and-white koi swim downwards, while a third, mottled with gold and dark brown, turns to meet them. The water is painted in turquoise, emerald and deep blue, with highlights, ripples and long shadows running through it; round lily pads float at the top and along the edges. Coverage is partial: the fish and the pads are worked in beads, while the water with all its shifting tones stays as the painted print on the canvas. The contrast between dense glossy beadwork and smooth painted water is what creates the depth.
