Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Heiday"

“Heiday” shows a woman from behind whose gown turns into an enormous flowering train spread across half the canvas.

What the picture shows

The background is deep, almost blue-black, and vertical strings of gold and green dots fall through it from top to bottom like rain or the threads of a beaded curtain. At the centre is the slender back of a girl, shoulder blades bare, a flower pinned in her gathered hair. From her waist the train opens out: roses, asters, peonies, daisies, ferns and wavy ribbons of lilac, mint, raspberry and lime. On the right an arc of blue and violet petals sweeps upward. Beading is partial: the flowers, the ribbons, the falling lines and the figure itself are worked in beads, while the dark night ground between them stays printed on the canvas.
