“Heat premonition” is a spring window of a wooden house, with a box of the season's first flowers below it.

What the picture shows

A white multi-pane window fills the upper part of the composition, flanked by green louvred shutters with narrow slats. A white fence and garden are reflected in the glass. Below stands a long white wooden box from which a thick wave of flowers rises: pink and yellow tulips, bright pansies, narcissi, small blue forget-me-nots and green leaves trailing over the edge. A butterfly with orange-and-black wings has settled by the right shutter. Grey clapboards show at the bottom. Coverage is partial: the flowers, the box, the butterfly and the thin bands of light on the shutters are beaded, while the window, wall and wooden boards stay as print on the canvas.
