Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Gulf Stream"

“Gulf Stream” shows a sea turtle gliding through the water, its whole body woven from turquoise, crimson and gold.

What the picture shows

The turtle fills nearly the whole canvas: its head turns to the left, the front flipper sweeps down and open, and the shell is a mottled mosaic of emerald, blue, crimson and ochre with glowing orange inlays, like sun coming through water. The other flipper stretches to the right, wavy bands of current trailing behind it. The background is the ocean itself: pale foam and white streams above, deep blue speckled with bubbles on the right, greenish-yellow shallows on the left. Beading is full: the whole field of the pattern is covered in beads, turtle and surrounding water alike.
