“Good New Year spirit” — a washing line of winter things pegged out to dry, with a bird perched on top. A simple, warm winter scene.

What the picture shows

A brown line strung with wooden pegs runs right across the canvas. Hanging from it are a red-and-white Santa hat, a pair of red mittens and a striped red-and-white stocking; between them, on fine threads, swing a small yellow gift box, blue, gold and turquoise baubles, and pale blue snowflake stars. A bird with a reddish breast and a yellow patch sits on the line, and frosted twigs show along the top. The background is a pale blue snowy sky with white flakes falling through it. The beadwork is partial: you bead the line, all the hanging things, the baubles, the bird and the snowflakes, while the blue sky stays as print.
