What the picture shows

A tabby kitten with large amber eyes lies at the centre: one front paw raised, the other pressed to its chest, the striped tail flicked up to the right. Flowers surround it like a continuous carpet — lilac and white pansies, small red buds, rust-coloured climbing stems with orange blooms at the top, and broad green leaves below. A pale flower is tucked behind the kitten's ear. The upper background is soft cream and blue with fine blades of grass. The beadwork is partial: beads cover almost the entire floral surround — leaves, blossoms, stems and buds — while the kitten itself, with its face, paws and tail, and the pale sky above stay printed on the canvas.
