Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Frigate"
Description
“Frigate” shows a sailing ship under full canvas crossing open water, with the golden spire of a bell tower glowing on the far bank.
What the picture shows
The main subject is a three-masted frigate with cream and ochre sails and a dark hull marked by a light band of gun ports. A smaller sailing boat follows behind on the left, and further off runs a low embankment with green trees and a tall bell tower topped by a golden spire and dome. The sky is laid in broad strokes: blue above turning to warm yellow near the horizon. The water is built from moving blue and turquoise bands with white highlights. The beadwork is partial: beads cover the sails, the rigging, the hull with its gun ports, the spire and domes, the outline of the embankment and the reflections on the water, while the sky and most of the waves stay printed.
