Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Friends"

“Friends” — two puppies sit under a large umbrella waiting out the rain. The subject is warm and a little funny, clearly fond of its two characters.

What the picture shows

On the right sits a cocker spaniel with long ginger-and-white ears; on the left a shaggy wire-haired puppy in black and white leans against him. Both shelter under a striped umbrella divided into pink, crimson and orange wedges, its handle running down between them. The ground is wet, reflecting the dogs and showing ripples from the drops, while blue raindrops fall slantwise across the whole picture. The colours are warm — ochre, ginger and brown — beneath a saturated pink-orange canopy. The beadwork is partial: beads cover the umbrella, the raindrops, the handle and part of the water below, while the puppies themselves and the wet stone stay printed on the canvas.
