What the picture shows

Four houses stand across the centre: a green one on the left, a tall yellow one with a green roof, a small violet one on a post, and a pink one on the right. Each is painted with flowers, dots and stripes, and yellow, russet and pink birds sit in the openings and on the perches, one holding a green leaf. Dragonflies with transparent wings fly above, and soft blue clouds fill the sky. A garden spreads along the bottom: pink and white daisies, tulips, yellow florets, lilac bells and green foliage, with a ladybird resting on one petal. A violet border with yellow scrolls frames the whole. The fill is partial: beads cover the houses, the birds, the flowers, the dragonflies and the border, while the painted cloudy sky stays printed on the canvas.
