“Flower harmony” — an enormous garden bouquet in a terracotta vase on a stone terrace, with a folding chair and an old watering can beside it.

What the picture shows

The bouquet fills the right half of the canvas: large pink, cream and golden-yellow roses at its heart, and around them lilies, small white and blue flowers, mauve panicles and yellow heads flying upward. The round-bellied terracotta vase stands on stone paving. On the left are a wooden folding chair with a pink ribbon, a metal watering can, and another spray of roses laid straight on the ground. A small table and a green garden show in the depth behind. Coverage is partial: beads fill the flowers, the leaves and the vase, while the chair, the watering can and the garden background stay painted on the canvas. The colours run from a hot centre to cooler edges, so the bouquet never looks garish despite its size.
