Description

“Firebird” — a fairy-tale bird with a spread tail against flame-like waves. A decorative piece, very saturated in colour.

What the picture shows

At the upper right is the bird itself: a stretched neck, a sharp crest, an open wing with long feathers and a golden beak. From it, a huge tail fans down and to the left, made up of dozens of rounded eyes: each outlined in orange, with a green ring inside and a blue-and-red centre. The background is painted in flowing waves of pink, crimson, orange and yellow shot through with white. The whole palette rests on warm tones, with green and blue working only as accents in the tail eyes. The beadwork is partial: beads cover the bird, all the tail feathers with their eyes and individual tongues of flame, while the wavy pink-and-red ground stays printed on the canvas.
