“Country walk” — an old country house with blue roofs, a lavish flower bed in front of it and a blue bicycle with a basket of flowers on the handlebars.

What the picture shows

The two-storey pale stone house has tall blue roofs with weathervanes, white frames and blue shutters. A spreading green tree grows on the left, and a large lilac-pink tree in full bloom stands at the centre, with a low stone wall behind it. The lower third of the canvas is taken by the flower bed: yellow, pink, white, blue and lilac patches of bloom run edge to edge as a solid carpet. A blue bicycle with a wicker basket full of flowers is parked in front of it. The beading is partial but very dense: beads fill the roofs, the windows, the trees, the whole flower bed and the bicycle, while the sky, the house walls and the distant greenery stay as print on the canvas.
