Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Blue Moth"

“Blue Moth” — a large blue butterfly rests among pink flowers on a deep blue-and-turquoise ground. The mood is decorative, almost like stained glass.

What the picture shows

At the centre is the butterfly with its wings spread wide: nearly black next to the body, then shifting through cobalt to pale turquoise, with fine light strokes and dots along the wing edges. Around it are pink and lilac flowers with yellow centres, green leaves with cut edges, and yellow-and-red curls that look like ribbons. The background is blue with turquoise shimmer and a fine wave pattern. The beadwork is partial: you bead the butterfly, the flowers, the leaves and the curls, while most of the painted background stays as print and holds the depth of colour. Note the small bubble-like circles scattered over the blue field — they have their own colour key and give the piece its shimmer.
