Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Birdie"

“Birdie” — a small bird perched on a flowering magnolia branch, with carved ornament closing the composition above and below. The piece is restrained, in a warm muted range.

What the picture shows

The ground is even and smoky beige, shading softly from a lighter centre to darker edges. A branch runs diagonally across the middle bearing large open magnolia blooms — creamy white, with blue and yellowish shadows on the petals — along with several closed buds and small green leaves. A brown-grey bird sits near the centre, back to the viewer, head turned to one side. Bands of openwork ornament in scrolls and droplets run along the top and bottom, worked in the same warm brown. The fill is partial: beads cover the flowers, buds, branches, leaves, the bird and both ornamental bands, while the smoky ground stays printed on the canvas.
