Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Azure design"

“Azure design” — a peacock in profile on a white ground, surrounded by openwork rosettes that read like snowflakes. The piece is cool in colour and strongly decorative.

What the picture shows

The bird stands left of centre, neck stretched upwards, a fine crest of stalk-like feathers with droplet tips on its head. The plumage shifts through turquoise, blue, green and emerald, with lilac and violet flecks on the neck and breast, while the beak and wing are lit with warm yellow. The tail falls in broad blue-and-yellow feathers. Round openwork rosettes are scattered around the bird, worked airily in pale beads with blue and green accents. The fill is partial: beads cover the peacock and the rosettes, while the clean white ground is left unbeaded, printed on the canvas.
