Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "At the moon"
Description
“At the moon” — a snowbound village under a large white moon: frosted trees, deep drifts and warm lights in the cottage windows.
What the picture shows
A round white moon hangs at the upper left, surrounded by a violet-blue sky streaked with dark cloud. The middle of the canvas is filled with bare trees whose branches are heaped with snow and worked in blue, white and greyish-blue beads, the ground showing through between them. At the lower right runs a row of village cottages with thatched roofs under snow; two windows glow orange, and a post with a red lantern stands beside them. The foreground is long snowdrifts with blue shadows. Coverage is partial but very dense: beads fill the snow, the trees and the houses, while the sky with the moon stays painted on the canvas. The whole palette rests on a few tones of blue and white, with only two warm spots in it — the windows and the lantern.
