What the picture shows

At the centre stands a grey stone cottage with red shutters, a tiled roof and warm light in the windows; a red barn shows in the distance on the right. Two yellow chairs and a small table stand on the lawn in front. The lower third is taken by a pond with a stony bank, the lights reflected in the water. Two pale dogs stand right at the water's edge. The sky shifts from turquoise above to yellow near the horizon, and fireflies flicker in the air. The beadwork is partial: beads cover the foliage, the shrubs, the grass, the stonework, the roof, the windows and the reflections on the water, while the sky, the dogs and the surface of the pond stay printed.
