Description

“Vanilla” shows a cup of a hot drink with two curls of steam, and a yellow flower with green leaves beside it.

What the picture shows

The cup and saucer are outlined in white and lilac beads — a thin contour, almost like a pencil sketch. Inside the cup a green print carries a line of blue beads, like a reflection on the surface of the drink. Two curls of steam of matte translucent beads rise above. At the lower right lies a flower of yellow and gold beads with a pearly centre. The background — white canvas with a printed green circle — is left unbeaded; with only five bead colours the picture reads as a light outline sketch. With so much white space left free, the piece looks airy, almost like an illustration from a café menu.
