Description

A bouquet in a striped vase on a table by an open window is how “The smell of the sea” is built.

What the picture shows

The vase is worked in horizontal bands of blue, lilac and yellow beads, with green stems rising from it. The bouquet alternates red clusters, white pearl blooms, yellow flowers and purple hyacinths — each flower assembled from a handful of beads. A curtain hangs on the right, laid in blue and pink beads over the printed fabric, and behind it lie a blue sea with a sailing boat and a white crescent moon. A glass of pink beads with a pearl stem stands on the table, with lemons beside it that stay yellow print. The cloth is ruled with red, blue and lilac rows of beads converging towards the lower edge.
