Bead Embroidery Magnet Kit "Tasteful holiday"

Instead of a fir tree there is a wedge of cheese with a star on top, and beside it a mouse in a red cap. “Tasteful holiday” plays with the Christmas canon.

What the picture shows

On the right rises a yellow wedge of cheese full of holes, laid in golden and lemon beads, with a yellow star at its tip. On the left stands a grey mouse in a red cap with a white pompom, wrapped in a garland of green, red and white beads and holding a red sprig. White snowflake florets are scattered across the field. The pale blue background is printed on the canvas and left unbeaded, so both figures come forward. The garland on the mouse is picked up one bead at a time in three alternating colours, so it needs more attention than the rest of the piece.

The 55×55 mm piece is mounted in the round acrylic frame from the kit and held by the magnetic tape. The subject is wintry, so the magnet is often taken as a small New Year extra to go with a card. On the round canvas the cheese and the mouse stand side by side without overlapping, so the composition reads from a distance. The piece is small enough to finish before the holidays.
