Description

“Scorpio” shows a purple scorpion with a curled tail under a golden moon.

What the picture shows

The scorpion is worked in lilac and purple beads: the body segments run in rows, the claws are lighter, and the tail curls upward to a sting made of a single dark bead. A golden crescent moon and a ring of bronze beads hang above it. The sky is blue with white clouds of matt beads drifting through it and yellow flowers below. The word for Scorpio is set across the top in red beads. The ground stays printed: on art canvas the beads do not cover the surface. The tail is beaded one at a time along the curve, and that line sets the character of the whole figure. The claws and tail are beaded in a lighter lilac than the body, so the figure does not collapse into one purple patch.
