Description

A round pizza cut into slices fills almost the whole of “Pizza”.

What the picture shows

The crust is set in a double row of translucent yellow and brown beads, and the cut lines run out from the centre in black and brown beads, dividing it into six slices. The topping is laid piece by piece: green rings of pepper, black olives, white pieces of mushroom and red rounds of salami — each element a small rosette of five or six beads. Vegetables lie below the pizza: red tomatoes flecked with white, a red pepper, green herbs and a mushroom with black beads on its cap. The yellow-ochre ground stays printed and the beading does not cover it solidly — so the pizza comes forward while the table stays a drawing.
