Description

“Paris” shows a tower of white pearl beads above a bright city and its lawns.

What the picture shows

The openwork tower is set in white pearls: four legs, two cross bands and a narrow spire at the top. In front of it the lawns spread out in sectors — rows of violet and pink beads are laid over the printed pink, lilac and green bands and converge towards the centre. Round bushes stand along the bottom, filled with green beads in tight rings, with small flowers among them. Houses with coloured roofs run along the left and right, and there the beads land only as dots on the windows. The sky is blue with white drawn clouds, scattered with pale blue beads. The ground stays printed: the beads carry the tower, the lawns and the bushes rather than covering the canvas.
