“Owl – 7” shows a horned owl with green eyes sitting on an open book.

What the picture shows

The plumage is worked in brown, golden and black beads: small specks on the head, arcing rows across the breast. The eyes are large and green, ringed in black. The wings hang down, marked with grey and white bands. The open book below has its pages outlined in white and black beads, while the printed handwritten text on them is left as it is. A sprig of green leaves lies on the left. The white ground stays printed: on art canvas the beads are not solid. The bands on the wings are beaded as even parallel lines — the part that asks for the most care. The specks on the head are set one bead at a time and scattered, so this part can be worked slowly without holding a chart in your head.
