Description

“Owl – 5” shows a grey owl in a red scarf and a pink hat on a snowy branch.

What the picture shows

The scarf is worked in several rows of red beads and winds twice around the neck; the hat is pink and grey with a round pompom. The body is set in white and grey beads, the wings marked with blue bands. The branch below is brown, carrying snow of white beads and red berries. Beaded snowflakes are scattered across the blue ground. The snowy garden behind stays printed: on art canvas the beads are not solid. The red scarf is the only bright patch in a cold range, and the mood of the piece rests on it. The pompom on the hat is a few beads set in a circle and the berries on the branch are three or four each, so there are more small details here than it first seems.
