Description

“Owl – 2” shows a dark blue owl perched on a golden crescent moon.

What the picture shows

The owl is worked in blue and dark blue beads, its breast lighter, its eyes marked with white and black beads and yellow tufts on its head. The moon beneath is set in golden beads with small yellow flowers scattered along its edge. White and silver snowflakes of a few beads each are worked across the blue ground. The winter landscape with its little house stays printed: on art canvas the beads do not cover the surface. The moon is the densest passage, and the snowflakes are spaced so they do not bunch together; they go in last. The yellow tufts on the head and the flowers on the moon use the same colour, which keeps the piece coherent despite the contrasting range.
