Description

“Oriental pattern - 2” shows a round mandala with an eight-pointed star at its centre.

What the picture shows

The outer circle is outlined in white beads, followed by a wreath of purple petals and red dots. Inside sits an eight-pointed star of blue beads with a core worked in green and white. Printed pink and lilac sections of the pattern are left between the points. The light green field with its rays stays printed: on art canvas the beads are not solid. There are slightly more beads here than in the first mandala and the pattern is finer, so the core calls for closer attention. The red dots around the wreath go in last, one bead at a time, and they are what makes the mandala festive rather than strictly geometric. The white outer rim goes in first — it sets the size of the whole circle.
