Description

“On the roof” shows a black cat walking along a roof towards a white cat.

What the picture shows

The roof is worked in amber and brown beads, the tile and ridge lines running in long even rows. On the left stand a brick chimney outlined in dark beads and a small window. The black cat is set in black beads, the white one in pearl, with pink ears and a white bow. The terracotta ground with its printed houses is left as it is: on art canvas the beads do not cover the surface. The long roof lines are beaded quickly, while the small outlines of the faces take the most attention. The chimney and the little window are the only right angles in the piece; every other line is slanted, which keeps the roof alive. The cat's bow and pink ears are beaded at the end, a few beads each, and they are what gives the figures their character.
