Description

“Leo” shows a yellow lion cub with a full mane on a pink ground.

What the picture shows

The mane is worked in golden and yellow beads as separate strands radiating from the face; the face itself stays printed, with beads outlining only the eyes, the nose and the smile. The paws and the tufted tail are set in white and yellow. Small white, red and yellow flowers are scattered around, a few beads each. The pink-crimson ground stays printed: on art canvas the beads are not solid. The word for Leo runs across the top in white beads. There are only four colours here, so everything rests on the contrast of the yellow mane against the pink field. The strands of the mane radiate unevenly, so there is no need to copy them exactly — what matters is keeping the direction from the face outwards.
