Description

“Kittens in flowers” shows two cream kittens sitting side by side in a thicket of spring blossom.

What the picture shows

The kitten in front is the smaller one and faces the viewer, with the larger one peering out behind it — both are outlined in golden beads, and their ears and collars are set in pink. The faces stay light print, carrying only the dots of the eyes and the noses. Blossom is scattered all around: lilac and pink clusters of tiny beads, blue and white flowers with pearl centres. Twigs of glossy black beads run between them, giving the design contrast and keeping the pink and blue from merging. The white textured ground is left unbeaded: on art canvas the beads are not laid solidly — they carry the kittens, the flowers and the twigs.
