Description

“Kitten with a thread skein” shows a striped kitten lying beside an orange ball of yarn whose thread spells out the word love.

What the picture shows

The kitten stretches out along the bottom of the circle: a grey coat with dark stripes, white paws and chest, pink ears and nose, and a long tail curling upward. Its eyes are closed and its face is calm. Just above lies a large ball of yarn in ochre, orange and gold with darker veins, the strands visible around its curve. A yellow thread runs from the ball, loops upward to write the word love, then comes back down and winds around the kitten's paws. Ten colours, 5 m of thread. The ground stays as white canvas, with no stitching. The finished piece is set into a round acrylic frame with magnetic tape.
