Description

“In hammock” shows two little animals dozing in a hammock slung between two tree trunks.

What the picture shows

The hammock stretches right across the piece, worked as a row of pink-beige beads that sags in the middle. A brown animal has settled into its left end: its back and paw are run in amber beads, its ear and the patch on its side in black, and its white muzzle hangs over the edge. On the right lies a pink one, with a long ear and a black bead for an eye; lilac-and-white clusters like sprigs of lilac hang above and below it. Above are white daisies of pearl and bronze beads, green leaves and a drawn bee, and a large yellow sun glows on the right. Two green rows mark the grass below. The watercolour ground stays printed: the beads hold the hammock, the animals and the flowers.
