Description

“Honey” shows a jar of honey under a green cloth cover tied with a golden bow, with white daisies beside it.

What the picture shows

The jar is filled with a yellow-orange print that conveys the thick honey; the beads work the green cloth cover, the white lacy trim along its edge and the golden ribbon with a large bow at the side. At the lower left, white daisies with golden centres open beside green leaves of elongated beads. The warm orange background is left unbeaded — that is the intention here, since on art canvas the print carries as much of the picture as the embroidery. Green with gold is the main colour pair here, and the cloth with its bow takes most of the beads. The daisies below are smaller and balance the heavy top. Despite 459 beads the piece does not feel difficult: all the areas are large and clearly separated.
