“Happy New Year – 1” shows a snowman in a red hat standing in the snow with a striped cat and a white bunny.

What the picture shows

The snowman's red hat and scarf are beaded in red, his broom in gold, his nose in orange. The cat and the bunny stay printed, with beads picking out their paws and a green fir branch of small beads above them. Snowflakes of white and clear beads are scattered across the canvas. The greeting at the upper right is printed too and is not beaded — on art canvas only what needs relief is embroidered. There are three characters, but the beads mainly pick out the snowman — his hat and scarf are the brightest. The cat and the bunny stay as soft printed patches, and that contrast makes the composition easy to read. Snowflakes scattered over the canvas add sparkle.
