Description

“Guelder region” shows a coat of arms on a blue shield with ribbons and a cluster of guelder rose below.

What the picture shows

The shield is edged with yellow beads, and a second row of blue runs inside it. The trident is set in yellow beads and takes the centre of the piece; the blue field of the shield stays as deep print. Ribbons come out on either side from behind the shield and curl upwards, alternating rows of yellow and blue. A large cluster of guelder rose lies below — the berries are worked in red and orange beads in small groups, and there are several dozen of them. The leaves are run in two shades of green: lighter across the blade and darker along the veins. The white canvas around is left unbeaded, so the arms and the berries read clearly.
