Description

“Goat and cole” shows a grey-and-beige goat chewing a cabbage leaf in a vegetable garden.

What the picture shows

The goat stands in the centre: its back and flanks worked in cream and light brown beads, its legs in rows of white, its horns curled in dark brown. A green leaf hangs from its mouth. A wooden fence stands on the left, and on the right grows a tree with red apples set as single beads. Cabbage heads outlined in green beads lie along the bed below, and a yellow sun with rays shines above. The path and the sky stay printed: on art canvas the beads are not solid. The small red apples and flowers at the edges are literally one bead each, and they are what lifts the calm green-and-beige range. The sun with its rays is one of the first things to bead: it sets the scale and makes the rest of the details easier to place.
