Bead Embroidery Magnet Kit "Following the route"

A mouse is hauling a Christmas wreath on a sledge — the “Following the route” magnet catches the animal mid-journey.

What the picture shows

A pink-and-lilac sledge takes the centre of the circle: the runners are laid in white beads, the side in pink and purple, and turquoise reins curl away on both sides. A wreath of dark green leaves and orange-and-pink berries lies in the sledge. The grey mouse sits in front with narrowed eyes and pink ears, a green sprig around its neck. The background is pale blue snow with small printed sparkles; it stays printed on the canvas, and only the sledge, the wreath and the mouse are beaded. The reins and runners are long, even lines of identical beads, and it is they that give the whole scene its movement. The berries in the wreath are picked up as rosettes.

Nine colours on 55×55 mm make for fine work at a simple level. The finished magnet is mounted in the round acrylic frame from the kit and fixed with the magnetic tape. The composition runs on a diagonal: the sledge moves from left to right and upward, so the eye reads the piece as a snapshot from the road. There are many colours, but all are muted, so the magnet never looks garish on a pale door.
