Description

“Easter still-life – 4” shows a basket of dyed eggs and a paska in the rays of the sun.

What the picture shows

The basket is built from rows of brown and golden beads and holds eggs outlined in red, blue and yellow. To the right stands the cake with white beaded icing and sprinkles of red, blue and yellow beads. Seven rays of glossy yellow beads fan out from the top corner — the detail that makes this design recognisable. A printed greeting sits in the lower right and is not stitched. The background is a green-to-yellow gradient and stays printed. The rays are the key device here: seven even runs of glossy beads laid out like a fan, and they are what makes the magnet catch the light. The cake and the basket are filled densely, while the background stays entirely printed.
