Description

“Easter still-life – 2” shows a large decorated egg with a spray of blue flowers beside it.

What the picture shows

The egg takes up almost the whole field: rows of yellow, green, white and orange beads run around it over a warm ochre print, and the outline is edged with amber beads. On the right rises a spray of blue and white flowers with golden centres on green stems. A red wavy ribbon of beads lies at the bottom. The letters “ХВ” in the upper corners are built from white beads. The background is a gradient from blue at the top to yellow below and stays printed. The bands on the egg follow its curve, so the rows of beads have to be fitted to the shape — the most interesting part of the work. The flowers on the right are made of small bead clusters, and the ribbon at the bottom is stitched last.
