Description

“Drummer – 1” shows a penguin in a red cap with white trim beating out a rhythm on a drum.

What the picture shows

The cap is beaded in red, the trim and pompom in white, the penguin's back in black and his front in pale beads. The drum is outlined in white beads with a red hoop around it, and the sticks are light and slim. Two musical notes are printed at the upper left — they stay printed, as does the blue background with its washes. Snowflakes of white beads fall around him. The penguin's orange feet are drawn too and take no beads. Red and white carry the composition, while the penguin's black back gives it a base. The drum is worked in a circle, so the evenness of the row is worth watching. The snowflakes are scattered freely and can be stitched in any order — the easiest part of the piece.
