Description

In “Defender” a cream puppy sits in a wicker basket and looks out over its rim.

What the picture shows

The basket is worked in horizontal rows of amber, golden and dark brown beads with white pearls woven between them, which is how the wickerwork is rendered. The handle arches above the puppy and ends in a bow at the top. The dog's face is outlined in white and golden beads — ears, forehead, cheeks and nose — and two paws rest on the rim of the basket. The body itself stays as pale photographic print. Brown panels with amber paw prints run down both sides of the piece, and the yellow central panel is separated from them by two vertical lines of white pearls.
