Description

“Cherry” shows two yellow berries on long stems, with pink-and-white blossoms below them.

What the picture shows

The cherries are beaded in golden yellow, each keeping a pale highlight, which makes the fruit look full. The stems are long, light and curved in an arc; the green leaves are set with elongated beads. Below, pink-and-white flowers with yellow centres open out. The background shifts from yellow at the top to pale blue at the bottom and stays printed: on art canvas beads sit as patches and outlines, not as a solid carpet. Yellow is the leading colour here, and the piece turns out light, almost translucent. The long stems are the finest part of the design: the beads lie in a single row, and the whole shape depends on how even that row is. The berries, by contrast, go quickly, being two large rounded areas. The flowers below add a pink accent.
