“Catty tea time” shows a black cat and a white cat sitting by a window with their cups.

What the picture shows

The cats are worked in black and white beads, their whiskers marked with single beads and their eyes dark. Two cups, one blue and one light blue, stand in front of them, outlined in beads. Red curtains with white polka dots hang on either side of the window, the dots set in white beads over the red field. The terracotta brick wall stays printed: on art canvas the beads do not cover the surface. The spotted curtains take the most time, but they are what makes the scene feel snug. The cups are barely a dozen beads each, yet they are what explains the whole scene. The curtains take longest: the dots have to sit in even rows or the fabric looks crumpled.
