Description

“Capricorn” shows a ginger goat with large curled horns riding a crescent moon.

What the picture shows

The horns are the most striking detail, worked in brown and bronze beads in spiral rows. The body is ginger in golden beads, a green scarf at the neck, and under the hooves lies a yellow crescent moon set in a dense line of yellow beads. The sky is blue with white beaded curls winding across it and small yellow flowers scattered about. The ground stays printed: on art canvas the beads do not cover the surface. The word for Capricorn runs across the top in white beads. The moon and the curls are beaded as long even lines, so the piece reads well even from a distance. The spiral rows on the horns are the most interesting passage: they run in circles and taper gradually towards the tip.
