Description

“Birthday gifts” shows a yellow octopus in a party hat holding colourful parcels in its tentacles.

What the picture shows

The octopus fills the middle of the circle: a body running from gold to orange with russet outlines, big eyes with turquoise pupils and a smiling mouth. A pointed hat in turquoise stripes with a pompom sits on its head. The tentacles spread out and hold four presents — turquoise, pink, violet and orange, each tied with a ribbon in a different colour. Small turquoise fish swim around, worked in a few stitches each. Nine colours, 5 m of thread. The ground is not stitched: the white Aida stays open and the figure reads on it like a sticker. The piece is mounted in a round acrylic frame with magnetic tape.
