“Ball – 1” shows a teddy bear in a striped nightcap holding a round ball tied with a yellow bow.

What the picture shows

The cap is beaded in blue and white stripes with a small white ball at its tip. The ball in his paws is laid in red-brown beads, topped with a yellow bow and a white flower at the centre. The paws are marked with rows of brown beads. The bear's face stays printed. Snowflakes are scattered across the canvas, and a border of red, yellow and green beads runs right around the perimeter. The yellow-green background is left unbeaded. The beaded border around the perimeter is an unusual device at this small size: it holds the composition together and makes the piece look finished even before mounting. Inside there are few beads, so most of the surface stays printed. The brightest spot is the yellow bow on the ball.
