Description

“Aries” shows a white lamb swinging on a swing hung from a golden crescent moon.

What the picture shows

The lamb is worked in white and cream beads, its face and legs left printed, with a brown curl on its head. The swing hangs on two golden threads from a yellow crescent moon set in golden beads. The ground is pink and lilac, scattered with stars in red, yellow and white, a few beads each. The word for Aries is worked across the top in blue beads. The ground itself stays printed: on art canvas the beads are not solid. The stars make the piece festive and give it a simple rhythm — each is beaded the same way, out along the rays from the centre. The moon and the swing are beaded in golden beads of one tone, so they read as a single element while the lamb stays a pale patch in the centre.
