Description

“Aquarius” shows a boy tipping a red jug with water pouring from it.

What the picture shows

The jug is worked in red beads, its handle and rim outlined in a darker tone. Streams of water run down in turquoise and blue lines, spreading in waves along the whole lower edge. A tall brown vessel set in bronze beads stands on the right. The boy's figure stays printed, with beads running the outlines, the hair and the belt. The blue-lilac ground is left as it is: on art canvas the beads are not solid. The streams are beaded as long wavy lines — the simplest and most enjoyable part of the work. The water is the largest beaded area in the piece: the turquoise lines run parallel and gradually spread apart, so the stream seems to move. The jug above stays the only warm patch, and the print carries the rest of the figure.
