Bead Embroidery Magnet Kit "A little mouse"

A mouse in a pink tutu is caught mid-dance inside a heart of flowers — “A little mouse” keeps to a single pink range.

What the picture shows

A flower heart frames the whole piece: small pink, coral and yellow florets build the outline, broken here and there by paler beads. Inside stands a grey-and-pink mouse with large round ears, a long curling tail and a full skirt of pink beads; the paws are spread as if mid-pirouette. The white ground inside the heart stays printed on the canvas, so the figure and the wreath read as two separate layers. The wreath is picked up as separate rosettes of five petals, with gaps of white canvas deliberately left between them. The skirt is worked from the bottom up.

This is the heaviest piece in the series — 536 beads in seven colours on a 56×56 mm format. The finished magnet is mounted in the square acrylic frame and fixed with the magnetic tape. The whole piece rests on shades of pink, from pale to coral, with the odd yellow centre. A magnet like this more often goes to a child's room than to a kitchen. 536 beads on 56×56 mm makes for dense work, but without difficult transitions.
