Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "In anticipation of a miracle"
Description
“In anticipation of a miracle” is a stocking covered edge to edge with fir branches and ornaments; it is the busiest and most detailed of the four in the series.
What the picture shows
Green branches are beaded across the whole surface and interlace with one another, leaving only narrow gaps of the grey-blue canvas. Ornaments hang between them: elongated striped baubles, cones, a cup, a bell, and in the centre a large turquoise bauble carrying an English word. Birds sit among the needles: two bullfinches with red breasts, a tit, an owl with yellow eyes, and a pale blue deer stands to the right. Red berries are spread evenly and keep the rhythm of the composition. Twenty-six colours — the highest count of the four kits in the series — and every ornament is worked in its own combination. A green border runs along the edge, and the shape of the stocking itself is outlined in a pale trim.
